Tampa, Florida: Local artists Tim Gibbons of Funky As A Monkey Art Studio and Teri Navajo of She Paints Things join forces to bring a unique collection of local art by fifteen local artists to the craft beer community in the art show and sale, ART SPLASH AT HIDDEN SPRINGS ALEWORKS. The opening reception for Art Splash at Hidden Springs is February 13, 2016, beginning at 7:30 pm. Join us for this pre-Valentine's day event filled with art, delicious beer by Hidden Springs Ale Works, music and a food trucks fair, including Italian food trucks and Bobby-Daddy Food Truck which matches funky and delectable menu items with beers. Hidden Springs will be open for self-guided mini-tours during the event. Seating in the tasting room will be available for art lovers as they enjoy casual dining while embracing the local art of fifteen fun, fresh and edgy artists. The closing reception on March 6, from noon-4pm, is it’s own special event:  SPLASH-PARILLA ART BASH, March 6, noon to 4pm. SPLASH-PARILLA ART BASH will also include food trucks, music and a pop-up Vinyl Show and Sale presented by MicroGroove Vinyl and Records, “a Seminole Heights gem”. Both the opening and closing events at Hidden Springs Ale Works are FREE and open to the public. Hidden Springs Ale Works, www.hiddenspringsaleworks.com,  is open Sundays, noon-9pm, Wednesdays-Thursdays, 5pm-10pm, Fridays: 3pm-12am, Saturdays, noon-12am and is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.  Tim Gibbons, of Funky As A Monkey Art Studio, is a well-known artist, art instructor and curator of several downtown Tampa restaurant galleries as well as an art events coordinator and promoter. Tim has taught art extensively throughout the Tampa Bay area for over 40 years. His work has been shown extensively throughout Tampa, including the Gasparilla Art Festival, in Texas and Oregon. His work is on permanent display in the Brooklyn Art Library Museum’s SKETCHBOOK  project as well as Artbook TampaBay. Tim’s poetry is also featured in the new poetry anthology published through Amazon by the Life Enrichment Center. Terri Navajo is an emerging abstract artist who is the Social Media and Marketing manager at Coppertail Brewing Company. Teri teaches abstract/expressive painting classes through her firm, SHE PAINTS THINGS. Terri also organizes events and shows throughout Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg breweries and art venues. Her work is currently being considered for the Gasparilla Arts Festival. Margaret Ross Tolbert’s large, brilliant paintings of the North Florida Springs are featured in this exhibition. Other contributing Florida artists, photographers, and filmmakers include Jill Heinerth, Mark Long, Tom Morris and springs maps by Eric Hutcheson and Georgia Shemitz. Over the past 25 years these artists have worked to document some of the spring’s unique features. They emphasize the urgent need for the preservation of Florida’s freshwater springs and the Floridan Aquifer that feeds them.

Keiji Shinohara
Keiji Shinohara is a nationally renowned Master Print Maker.  His nature-based abstractions are printed on handmade kozo paper using water-based pigment onto woodblocks in the ukiyo-e style-the traditional Japanese printmaking method dating to 600 CE.  
Beth Kokol

Gallery owner and artist, Kokol has been creating art since she was a child, holding her first one women show upon college graduation, and since showing across Florida and the Southeast.  Kokol has commissioned work with collectors across the country and has spent years teaching. 
Fadi Matar
Fadi Matar is a Tampa-based physician who has practiced in the field of interventional cardiology for 22 years.  More recently, he discovered and perfected a passion for photography.  Much of Matar's work focuses on nature. 
Beth Garcia

Beth Garcia is Scapes' emerging artist.  Garcia has been a student of Beth Kokol's for many years, appearing in her student shows.  Garcia has been painting for more than six years, with a focus on landscapes.  This is Garcia's first professional show.

The Art of Janice Saavedra

Bamboozle Tea Lounge, located at 109 N. 12th Street in the Channelside District of Tampa will be exhibiting the art of well known artist and entrepreneur, Janice Saavedra.  The opening reception for Janice’s show is February 11 featuring Bamboozle Tea Lounge's complimentary appetizers beginning at 6pm. Janice is a self-taught artist whose professional studies and background focused on graphic arts, design and lithography. She has been the recipient of numerous industry and national awards for creative design. Janice is also co-owner with her husband of MLI Marketing Solutions, which began as Martin Lithograph, Inc. in 1970. Janice’s work represents a visual collection of thoughts and inspiration brought forth by her memories, travels and influences, both literal and figurative, as perceived by her imagination. Janice takes classes at the Life Enrichment Center. As well as art she pursues her passion for sailing. Her work has been shown throughout the Tampa Bay area and the Florida State Fair. Modern percussionist Victor Pons "stretches the bounds of electronics and vibraphone" -ArtsATL. He is dedicated to advancing new music in confluence with today’s technological trends. The Goat Farm Arts Center describes him as being “amongst the radicals reshaping musical parameters.” His particular interest is in performing new works with live electronics with an emphasis on vibraphone. Before moving to Illinois he was honored as one of Atlanta’s 30 under 30 for his work with vibraphone and electronics. In 2014 he was selected for three performances at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Two solo works were presented at PASIC Tech Day 2.0 and a chamber work at PASIC Focus Day 2014. In 2015 his lecture recital “Ampere: Performing Intuitively With Electronics” was presented at Transplanted Roots: Percussion Research Symposium in Montreal, QC.
