Zii is coming back to Zen Glass Studio!
PHLuid Motion~ Class and Gallery Show.
How can I make my work more dynamic, more animated? How do I create a sense of motion? If these are questions you’ve asked yourself…or not. Then, this is the class for you!
Our class will explore ways to make our work more spirited. We will browse the Zen Glass Gallery to examine the methods used by the artists of the Phluid Motion Show to bring action and mobility to their works. Then we will practice subtle and obvious techniques of moving glass to give our creations energy and vitality. Additionally, a section of the Phluid Motion class will be dedicated to developing our own techniques for making actual moving parts out of glass.
As always, be prepared to work! This class is a great opportunity to challenge yourself.

NEW EXHIBITION EXPLORES JAMAIS VU
Tempus Projects Presents Solo Exhibition of Brooklyn-based Artist Langdon Graves.
Tampa, FL (February 1, 2016) –Tempus Projects, is proud to present Jamais Vu, a solo exhibition of artwork by Brooklyn-based artist Langdon Graves. Featuring installation, drawing and sculpture, the work will be exhibited in Tempus Projects’ main gallery and adjacent project space.
Jamias vu, a French expression meaning “never seen,” is a psychological phenomenon akin to déjà vu whereby a common-place or recognizable situation suddenly feels unfamiliar. Through the artwork in the exhibition, Graves investigates this phenomenon in the context of a personal childhood experience.

The Leslie Curran Gallery @ ARTicles presents the exhibition ALBUMS: Heike Mueller in conjunction with St Pete's 2nd Saturday ArtWalk.
This solo exhibition of paintings by HEIKE MUELLER opens at the Leslie Curran Gallery @ ARTicles, on Saturday, February 13th, 6-9pm. The Swiss artist returns to the U.S., exhibiting a series of paintings inspired by source material gathered during her sabbatical in St. Petersburg in 2015.
The paintings in the 'Florida Album' have their origin in antique photographs gathered during an extended stay in St. Petersburg, Florida. The bright light and fresh colors of Florida greatly influenced her pallet. In addition, unlikely formal aspects of these vintage family snapshots became of interest. Damaged photographs often contained white spots and blemishes that Mueller then translated into abstraction in many of the resulting paintings. The series of "painted snapshots" captures moments of pleasure, reviving and reclaiming them into modern paintings.
After studying art education and painting in Basel and Amsterdam, Mueller continued to teach and maintain a rigorous studio and exhibition practice while building a family. Widely represented in Germany and Switzerland, Mueller has exhibited extensively in galleries and art fairs throughout Europe for the last 20 years. She now lives and works in Basel with her husband and three sons. This is the first solo exhibition of Heike Mueller's paintings in the U.S.
ALBUMS opens on the evening of February 13th, 6-9pm and continues through March 5th, 2016.
