This Mainsail Weekend, April 16th - 17th 2016

It's that time of year again. Time to celebrate the independent music retailer, otherwise known as a record store. It also means special releases, live music, beer/coffee/pizza and just a good ol' fashioned party in general.

Some of the stuff planned.....

COFFEE -
Commune + Co. will be here serving their unique (and insanely delish) nitro-tapped coffee in the AM.

LIVE MUSIC at NOON (Set times!) -
12:00 - Hello Joyce
01:00 - Empire Cinema
02:00 - Ninehorn
03:00 - Sentries
04:00 - Fistful
05:00 - DieAlps!

BEER -
We'll start serving beer, courtesy of PBR_Tampa Orlando, when the live music starts.

PIZZA -
Our neighbors, Cappys Pizzeria, will be opening early at noon to sell/serve slices.

THE INDEPENDENT -
Our awesome friends at Independent Bar and Cafe, Tampa will be offering 10% off your tab (with your RSD Microgroove receipt) all day!

and a few more fun things TBA!

***********************************************************
RSD releases will be limited to one title per person. You can buy as many different releases as you like, just one copy of each title. This keeps the lame-eBayers in check.

RSD titles are basically a lottery. We order, we wait, we're shipped what they send us, sometimes as late as the night before. So, please don't call the shop before RSD asking if we're going to have something, because the truth is, we won't know.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY......please remember, it's Record STORE Day. This annual "holiday" was created to celebrate your local (at the time, years ago) dying breed of a small business establishment. Yes, the special releases are fun. But, it's about supporting your local record store, whether it's CD's, LP's, Tape

Please join Diana B and sound guy Moe St. Evergreen for the monthly installment of Saturday Nite Open Mic. Since April is National Poetry Month I encourage you to read a poem or two from your fave poets. Or if you are your own fave poet, read your stuff. Musicians you can get in on this too by playing a couple ot tunes from your favorite musician or band. It should be interesting to see who blows our skirts up with their words or music.

Sign up starts at 7:30 pm with performance at 8:00 pm. And as always there is NEVER a cover but please patronize the Bunker by buying some of their delicious food or sublime drinks. I prefer the sangria over all else and you get 2 for 1 during Happy Hour. See you there !!!

-------
An Excruciatingly Ordinary Toy Theater Show By Zach Dorn is a hour long paper puppet theater performance filmed on a tiny handmade stage and projected on a screen behind him activily moving and filming his creations. Zach grew up in Tampa and recently moved back to the Bay Area. He hopes to go on a large tour and work on a year long project at Weeki Wachee Springs in the near future.

"Zach Dorn weaves lost journal entries into peculiar tales by manipulating digital cameras through toy-sized streets filled with paper puppets. A lonely puppeteer stalks the child of two notorious celebrities, a three-foot ghost plagues an eight-year-old boy’s fragile psyche, and an opera-singing landlord refuses to return a security deposit. These stories and more explode onto the stage in this modern exploration into Toy Theater. The show received a Jim Henson Foundation Seed Award in 2015."

Kristi Capone will also be doing a yarn bombing installation on our fence at this time!
