It was inevitable that Occupy Tampa/Wall St. art would appear. The group's presence on Ashley and Lykes Gaslight Park and its marches and network of demonstrations around the country have entered our cultural discourse.
I received a press release from OWS regarding an art auction/fundraiser they are having at Czar ( 1420 E. 7th Avenue). Here it is in its entirety:
"Here's an update on the art show scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2011:
We have two bands scheduled for the show: John Clark: The Bakeract http://www.reverbnation.com/johnclarkthebakeract
and Auto? Automatic?? http://www.facebook.com/#!/autoautomatic
We are still in the process of scheduling more bands. We are hoping for at least one more.
As
far as art goes, we haven't had very much luck with submissions. We
need your help! If you would like more information on how to submitt
work, please contact me ASAP.

Kathryn Morris has been
incredible! She is making puppets for our show which will add a strong
visual image to our Movement. If you would like to help Kathryn make
puppets, please contact her via Facebook or email: fincaphoenix@gmail.com. "
If you have any work to donate for this auction, please contect Lauren Howland at the e-mail address given above.
This work is the tycoon from the Monopoly game -- lynched. It looks like a computer printout pasted up in plain view where it gets light traffic all day long.
