RNC Art Show: Enter Through The GIft Shop

Underscoring their long-term commitment to art, the Republican National Convention is for the very first time, having a student art  competition. Open to sixth to twelfth grades, the theme is... "Elephants on Parade". Honest.

Incredibly, this very theme was revealed to me by another party having nothing to do with the art contest about two weeks ago regarding a behind-the-scenes effort involving an artist, a few Tampa developers, unoccupied storefronts, all in time for the Big Top coming in August. And this was for adults!

Student entries will hang in the Forum for four days, Aug 27th-30th. Needless to day, the RNC has rules for this art. From their PDF on this: "exhibits depicting subjects of contemporary political controversy or a sensationalistic or gruesome nature are not allowed, and will be omitted."

If the same rules applied to politicians, the Forum would be empty.

For those interested...here's the RNC PDF [Link], which doesn't seem to work.
