Experiential Photography From Abroad: Ryan Mitchell @ Kahwah South - More than 20 prints from exposures made over 2 years in 4 different continents. Haiti 2 weeks after the 2010 quake,  Northern Indian Himalayan Mountains, Southern Ethiopia and Argentine Patagonia. Interestingly,the hors d'oeuvres will represent the lands depicted. Ryan is a trained anthropologist and tactical medic besides being a free-roaming photographer. The show opens Saturday, April 7th, at Kahwah Cafe South 212 2nd St South, St Petersburg. Runs through April 30th. Free.

Photo Gear & Gadget Night @ Florida Museum of Photographic Arts - Photo League (FMoPA version) focuses on hardware and its uses. Education, Inspiration and Photography is their aim. Meeting is Tuesday, April 10th at 7:00 PM. For members only, though I'm sure you can get there a little early, join and attend the meeting. All in the Cube at the intersection of Ashley and W. Kennedy.

 On my Mind in Gulfport: A Wilson Loria Play @ Schork-Munsell Studios -  Opens April 5th, runs for three weekends. Three Muses & A Fool Productions presents "...on my mind." - an evening of six short plays, directed by Ciara Carinci. Starring Peter Suarez, Wilson Loria, Kendall McGuire, Zack Myers, Rob McCabe, and Ciara Carinci, these hilarious and often poignant pieces explore the multifaceted nature of love. Two of these plays were written by prominent local playwrights, take the audience on a guided tour of matters of the heart led by a narcissistic sculpture. Shows are at 7pm & 9pm April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 at the Schork-Munsell Studios at the Artists' Alley off Beach Blvd. at 29th Ave So. in Gulfport.
