Ms. Simon will be responsible for leading the museum into its next phase of development, overseeing daily operations, curatorial affairs, and outreach. Ms. Simon received her B.A. in art history from Bryn Mawr College in 1998 and her M.A. degree from Williams College in 2003. She is currently completing her M.B.A. in Non-Profit Management at the University of Tampa. Prior to this position, Ms. Simon worked as a Curator for the University of South Florida's Contemporary Art Museum and as Curator of Exhibitions for the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in Madison, Wisconsin. While at USF, Ms. Simon organized exhibitions of the work of Mark Dion and contemporary photography. She also organized a symposium on climate change and the arts and taught in their growing museum studies program. During her tenure in Madison, she guided the museum into using their multiple gallery spaces in the new Cesar Pelli building. She completed projects featuring the work of sculptor George Segal, painter TL Solien, and photographer and sculptor Alyson Shotz, among numerous group exhibitions. She was also responsible for a number of national grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Institute for Museum of Library Sciences.
