This Weekend: April 8th - 10th

Lucid Dreams @ C.Emerson Fine Arts - Ever notice something amiss and "awaken" within a dream and realize you were dreaming? This was one of the core ideas of the Surrealists and is the theme of this exhibit at C. Emerson Fine Arts. Shown are Henry Schreiber, Lucia Fisher, Teiji Hayam, Doreen Horn, Laszlo Horvath, Sonya McAlister, Gary McCauley, Dany Olda, and George Retkes. In the Waiting Room @ USF CAM - Performances of this installation, "The Waiting Room" will be taking place on Friday, April 8th, also April 15th & 22nd @ noon on each of those days. Enid Mueller performs as one of the characters in her recent work "Book of Enid", about Enid, a time traveler trying to stop a violent conflict after it's happened. Videos from the Practical Preparedness Series, preparing people for the many fears they anticipate in our culture. 3821 Holly Drive, Tampa. Free.

Ybor Art Colony Open House - Monthly open studio night at the YAC. Artists are on-site. Many media are represented, including high fashion. Live music, libations available. Immigrant Impact @ Duncan McClellan - The last NCECA show, I think, remaining open through Saturday, April 9th, evening. Treat yourself to this ceramics and stellar glassworks show and experience an unusual,  brilliantly designed gallery space. This show has been reviewed here twice, so you know I liked it. 2342 Emerson Ave. South, St Petersburg. After Dark Gallery Walk @ 600 Block, St. Petersburg - The 600 block will be having an After Dark event on Saturday. This will include an opening at Chris Parke's Pale Horse of the Saints & Sinners show, with a rendition of Leonardo DaVinci's Last Supper on twelve skateboards. Collective is also having an opening, titled Fabricated and Boundaries. Opens at 6PM, Free. Other galleries will be open.
