My 1970's Childhood: Katherine Michael @ Eve N Odd Gallery - Fifty paintings and stories by Ms. Michael in this one-woman show. Opens Friday, July 13th, 5-8 PM. Organic Inhabitants, David Hicks and Patricia Sannit @ Mindy Solomon Gallery - Earthen materials, organic form sculptures. Opens Saturday, July 14th, 6:30-8:30 PM. 124 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg. One of the many things MSG does that is unusual and very good is have the artists speak at the openings. Free admission.

Cast of Characters @ Duncan Mc Clellan Glass - This is two exhibits, one is the continuing "Urge", which has been reviewed here already [Link]. The new exhibit, "Cast of Characters", a group exhibit in parallel with the MFA's "Global + Local" glass exhibit. Opens Saturday, July 14th, 5:30-9:30 PM. Runs through July 30th. Free Admission.

Artists from the Oriente @ Nuance Galleries, St. Pete - Cuba is short and wide. The Eaternmost province, Oriente, has played a major part in Cuban (and US) history in spite or because of its distance from Havana. Nuance Galleries is opening a show on artists from the Oriente province on Saturday, July 14th, at Nuance, 2924 Central Ave. St. Pete, 6-9 PM. Free Admission. It then reappears at Union Marti-Maceo in Ybor City on July 28th, 7-11 PM for a fundraiser ($25 admission).Afterwards, it travels to Nuance in Tampa, 804 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. Tampa, on August 2nd, from 6-9 PM.  Free admission.

Polly Zoom @ Artpool - Paula Allen, AKA "Polly Zoom", who has a show hanging at Rob Davidson Fine Arts (review coming here soon!), is doing a "Street Art Inspired" Workshop at Artpool.
