What happened to winter? Sunday I was bitten by mosquitos while ambling about Boyd Hill. That's not a good sign.

CARMADA: Art’s Mobile Fleet will present five featured art cars and an interactive art program in Kiley Garden, downtown Tampa, as part of the annual Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. A sixth car will be altered into mobile art, live on-site, during the course of the two-day event.

What's an art car? It's any standard vehicle modified into mobile artwork through application of paint, sculptural embellishment, and other techniques. During this diverse showcase of colorful vehicles, each owner/artist will be on hand to answer questions and promote their individual projects.

Confirmed participating artists include Carrie Boucher, Sebastian Coolidge, Jennifer Kosharek, James Oleson, Hunter Payne, Paulette Perlman, and Kiaralinda.

On display at street level, adjacent to Kiley Garden, the NOMAD Art Bus by Carrie Boucher takes mobile arts to the next level. Designed to bring art instruction into Bay area neighborhoods, the NOMAD (Neighborhood-Oriented Mobile Art & Design) Bus features an interactive arts instruction studio housed in a former Arlington Transit bus. Boucher will offer rotating hands-on craft projects to the public during the Festival.

Come visit us in Kiley Garden, downtown Tampa, during GFA!

216 South Armenia Avenue, Tampa,

Poets, musicians, comedians - whatever your talent - come on out to open mic nite at Inkwood. The audience is always encouraging in this adults only atmosphere. Book Mama has listened to our feedback and is turning down the overhead fluorescent lights so we can have the more intimate "lounge type" atmosphere that brings out our best performance. Show your appreciation by patronizing this truly unique local book store and buy a book or donate 5 bucks for beer, wine, soda or water - your choice! As usual, Moe Saint Evergreen will be providing our most excellent sound!!!
