INFINITE SCROLL is a group exhibition featuring Santiago Echeverry, Stephen John Ellis, Christina Humphreys, Gigi Lage, and Chase Starr presenting digital and video based artwork. Their art explores existences online and offline, virtual and actual, digital and analog. Perhaps what is more fascinating, however, is the way which the artists examine the space between these existences or moments of overlap.

The IRL version of INFINITE SCROLL will feature a downloadable ebook. However, the ebook can only be accessed when within range of a specific wifi signal at the Venture Compound the evening of the exhibit.

A URL version of INFINITE SCROLL will also open April 19 at artatbay-praxis.com and be on view through May 17.

INFINITE SCROLL is a term referring to a “news feed” such as those used in Facebook or Tumblr which extend indefinitely, perpetually populating with information. However, it also alludes to a physical yet outmoded written media and brings to mind an impossible mental image.

ART AT BAY | praxis
One phrase we use often to help us define our magazine and blog is “Serious thought on art in Tampa Bay”. We offer many opinions, words and voices on contemporary art as it happens locally. However, we feel that theory is only as valuable as the praxis it encourages, informs, and inspires. With this in mind, in some sense, ART AT BAY is only half complete with its written components. With the ART AT BAY | praxis series we are striving to facilitate a complimentary praxis component, some talk to our walk.

Sunday April 20, 2014 will be the celebration of four years of The Pangaea Project concert series. From it's humble beginnings as a small gathering to introduce fellow experimental electronic artists to each other, to it's acquisition of it's own performance space and to it's new status as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, The Pangaea Project has helped shape the avant-garde and outsider arts culture of Tampa Bay.

Performances will start promptly at 9pm with a 15-minute time limit for each performer. There will be no gap in between performers. The arrangement and order of performers in this "installation-style" show will follow a (very rough) approximation of the golden spiral, moving throughout the space.

Performing artists:
Nequam Sonitus
STOIC
Leveret
Lavender Smith
Whitey Alabastard
s_c_r_e_e_n_n_a_m_e
Jason J Bundy
David DeCorte
Black Beast of Arrrghhh

Doors will be open at 8pm
Suggested donation of $5
