The good news is that after two months being held, the artist has been released and is at home. The bad news is that he has been effectively muzzled: No talk, no interviews, no travel, no Twitter, no internet, no media. And his assistant, accountant and designer's whereabouts are still unknown.
The artist is free to move around Beijing, but has to report about his planned movements. All of this is to go on for a year. And the 'economic' investigation against him is still ongoing.
Good to hear he has been released and is apparently healthy. I anticipate a torrent of work from Ai Wei Wei, perhaps the best to date.
