This Ruby Sparks Weekend, August 10th - 12th

The Impossible Photographers @ Eve N Odd Gallery -  When Polaroid went under, devotees of the SX-70 type film mobilized and managed to resurrect the film. It was appropriately dubbed  "The Impossible Project", and they pulled it off. Michael and Cherry Collins are photographers who seized this unique opportunity to work with the film. Their efforts will be shown @ Jenifer Kosharek's Eve N Odd gallery, opening on Friday, August 10th, from 5-8 PM. Runs through August 31. Wicked Games @ C. Emerson Fine Arts - Resurfacing after its yearly aestivation, CEFA is having a group show with a conceptual interpretation of the theme. America's Civil War @ FMoPA - The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is showing photographs from the esteemed Drapkin Collection from the Civil War. Opens Thursday, August 9th, 6-8 PM.  Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 400 N. Ashley Drive, Tampa. $10 admission for non-members.

3:30 p.m: I Am a Cuban Sandwich, a one-man performance by Richard DiPietra.
Panelists include moderator Tom Shereberger, from the Poytner Institute and former food editor for the St. Petersburg Times; Dr. Susan Greenbaum, Professor Emerita of Anthropology at University of South Florida; historian and USF scholar Gary Mormino, Chris Sherman, former restaurant critic for the St. Petersburg Times; Michelle and Robert Faedo, food truck owners, among others.
