This Hot Tin Roof Weekend, August 27th - Sept 1 2013

After the usual hellish (temp-wise) summer, people are beginning to smell and feel signs of Fall. It's about time. Last weekend proved once again that the 600 Block has what it takes to rock this city arts-wise. In its concentrated way, it was close to a 2nd Saturday, all by itself. The Venture Compound's Free Film Festival was grand, reminding viewers of what film can be, the pure, magical fun, totally unpretentious experience. Sunken into one of their biohazard couches between Malcom Johnson and other friends, it was like being a kid again at a saturday matinee. The thrill is not gone.
