TWO FREE DAYS AT LEEPER-RATTNER MUSEUM
The Leeper-Rattner Museum, which is part of St. Petersburg College on
the Tarpon Springs campus, will have two free days of admission and
parking on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, 10 am - 5 pm, and Sunday, Sept. 22,
1-5 pm. The museum is at 600 Klosterman Rd. and there is also an
entrance on Belcher Rd., just south of Klosterman.
There
are several 'extras' available during these two days. There will be an
'Artists Market' both days inside the cool halls of the museum, with 30
local artists scheduled.
This year, there will also be a
food venue in the auditorium for both days with food available from
Bayou Cafe of Tarpon Springs.
The Art Book Nook will
have used books and magazines for sale while Isabelle's Museum Store
will have a large selection of posters on sale.
For more info; 727-712-5762,www.spcollege.edu/museum.
After you leave the museum, you can make it a daytrip by heading west
on Klosterman, go north on Alternate 19, to downtown Tarpon Springs at
E. Tarpon Ave. to see the two-story 'Mother Meres' mosaic mural. Then
you could walk the downtown area and then go to the Sponge Docks at
Alternate 19 and Dodecanese Blvd., and in late evening, finish off the
day trip with a visit to a bellydance lounge. Opa!
