Two Big Successes
Top 2012 Year for CSS

Ed Ross Honored As
Lightning Community Hero

The Tampa Bay Lightning honored Ed Ross as this year's fifth Lightning Community Hero. Ed received a $50,000 donation from the Lightning Foundation and the Lightning Community Heroes program and donated half the money to Community Stepping Stones, and divided the rest between the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, GracePoint, HipHop Basketball and the Sierra Club. As the founder of Community Stepping Stones, Ed has been a tireless advocate for the Hillsborough River and for programs that improve the lives of everyone in the Sulphur Springs area.  See the video of Ed's accomplishments and his award by CLICKING HERE.

New CSS Business Wins
Big Social Enterprise Competition

CSS was one of the big winners in the Children's Board annual Innovative Business Plan Competion - winning $15,000 to launch their new social enterprise, Murals2Go. The "for profit" venture pairs master muralists with emerging artists (many who will go through CSS' training programs) to create extraordinary public murals. Not only is this powerful communication vehicle a boost for M2G's customers, it contributes to the vibrancy of our community, and creates jobs. Interested in a mural for your project? Contact Sigrid Tidmore or visit www.Murals2Go.org

Congratulations to Community Stepping Stones for these triumphs and most of all, for all they do for the community and the future of its children. Bravo!

--- Luis
