Winter Park Art Festival - A large sidewalk art festival, similar in size to Gasparilla, but in the beautiful setting of a central plaza in Winter Park, and half-ringed by beautiful boutique shops and restaurants. On the main stage, there will be an assortment of musicians playing, and they also have art workshops for your children. This is one of the premier outdoor art shows in the State. If you've never been, it's well worth your while to make the trek. Just north of Orlando. Runs Friday March 18th, and Saturday, March 19th. Free. Downtown Winter Park, 9 AM - 6 PM Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM Saturday.

One AT word of advice: This is one of those events where getting there early makes a tremendous difference with the parking experience. Besides, there's lots of great little places to have a great breakfast and start your day.

Hot AT  Tip: Tampa Museum's Art On The House. Degas and Snitzer, for Free. - This Friday, March 18th, what is perhaps the best deal in the Arts in the area: The Law Firm of Ward Hill Henderson (yes, they get a plug for doing this) generously foots the bill for "Art on The House", making for free admission to see four excellent shows: Degas sculptures and LIFE magazine photographer Herb Snitzer's "Glory Days", a series of portraits of the greatest Jazz musicians done as a personal project and for magazine work over thirty years. I've seen the Snitzer, and it is extraordinary work. There is also a ceramics and a photo-realist shows. In these hard economic times, this is an unbelievable deal.
120 W. Gasparilla Plaza. 4 PM - 8PM.
