This Flugtag Weekend, Oct 7th-9th

Shadows and Reflections, @ Morean Arts Center - This long-awaited show of Suzanne Williamson's photographic exploration of Floridian Indian mounds and her husband John Capouya's writing opens this Saturday, October 8th,  at The Morean Art Center. Opening Night party is from 5-7 PM. Free.

Glass Diversity @ Duncan McClellan Glass - Glassworks from Duncan McClellan and several other artists will be shown. Bar donations benefit Florida Craftsmen Gallery. A great arts event, well worth attending. Opens Saturday, Oct 8th, 5:30-9:00 PM 2342 Emerson Ave. St Pete. Free.

Midtown Through Our Eyes @ 620 - This outstanding summer camp project brings out the best in the children of the Midtown neighborhood. They basically document their community through their own youthful eyes, and the intimate knowledge that an insider can bring to such a project. 42 young photojournalists are featured. Reception is Friday, Oct 7th, from 5 Pm., at Studio 620, 620 First Avenue South, St. Pete.  Free. Runs through Oct 16th.

Birth of a Gallery: Oleson Gallery Grand Opening - Grand opening for this venue where art by James and Rachel Fogarty Oleson will be on display. Saturday, Oct 8th, 5:30 PM. 685 Central.

Basement Sessions 1 @ Cafe Hey - Art inspired by music like jazz,  soul, hip-hop and blues. The show will be accompanied by music. Opens Saturday, Oct 8th, at 7 PM. 1540 North Franklin St.

City of Lights, Carol O'Bryon @ Art Lofts - Opening reception on Saturday, Oct 8th, 5:00-8:30. 10 Fifth St. North, St. Petersburg. (Right over Florida Craftsmen).

Gulfport Art Walk - Music, Arts and Crafts on the sidewalks of this quaint town. A great way to spend an evening. Beach Boulevard, Gulfport. 6-10PM Friday, Oct 7th.

  1. Midtown show at 620 had more passion and honesty than most "professional" exhibits in this town.
