Work by Jennie Hinchcliff
Jennifer Kosharek's Fifth Mail Art Show @ Eve N Odd Gallery - Before e-mail, there was US Post Office Mail, and artist Ray Johnson used that ancient social network to create a new medium, space and distribution network for art. He was a Fluxus [Link] artist and so is Ms. Kosharek, who is internationally known for her own mail art and high-quaity events she consistently puts on in her tiny gallery in the Crislip Arcade. Fluxus has palpable influence on the Bay area besides Ms. Kosharek's input. There are frequent noise music concerts @ Venture Compound, and the Tempus show/performance events related to John Cage. Its anti-art position became its own form of art as time went by, but this is getting to be a preview...go to this show, it promises to be a clusterflux. There will be Fluxus performances as well. All at Eve N Odd Gallery, 645 Central Ave., St Pete, Saturday, Sept 8th, 7:30-10:00 PM. Free admission.
